Rosa Parks dies

DETROIT - Rosa Lee Parks, whose refusal to give up her bus seat to a white man sparked the modern civil rights movement, died Monday. She was 92.

For those who have not seen the "Eyes on the Prize" documentary series about the Civil Rights movement - I can't recommend it strongly enough. My favorite part of the series is the Montgomery bus boycott episode - a triumph of grassroots organizing. It's amazingly powerful
