Brief bloviating blather
Lying Item- Righties are “business friendly”…
Fact…Here in New Hampshire, our Righty appointment heavy DRED and Righty majority legislature keep pork funding grants for, yet losing out on serious commitments from, large investing businesses such as Boeing, Airbus, SRX (a joint venture of several high tech firms developing military, computer and space technology, communications, applications and soft/hardware), Makita tools, and even GM. Although the prison industry is looking good in the North Country.
Lying Item…Righties are “for the people”…
Fact…Here in New Hampshire, we suffer from one of the lowest minimum wages in the Country and have reduced programs and services in every area of the budget this term.
The ranks of the unemployed and poor are growing while the tax rates are growing even faster, putting the majority of the burden on the backs of folks that can least afford to keep their homes and properties.
Lying Item…Righties are "for protecting the elderly"…
Fact…Here in New Hampshire there was no less than 3 specific bills introduced in the lower House asking the Federal delegation to support Social Security privatization while looking for no reform to the Medicare/Medicaid debacle that is set to bankrupt the States in 2020. No question was given as to the thieving from the current, fictional SS “surplus” instead of leaving the money in place for future Social Security recipients, while awaiting the down turn to benefits payoffs in 2043. (Leaving these "surplus" funds in place, and allowing them to accrue through this decade , will keep this current benfit at 100% through 2083.
Lying Item… Homeland Security is a top priority…
Fact… Bush lied and keeps lying. So too are/have many in his administration. Homeland Security has been under funded from its inception, understaffed and lacks good managers to keep the failing Department from floundering even further. As far as National Security goes, outing secret operatives is condoned and no action will be taken against the treasonous traitors ratting out the CIA, FBI or covert ops troops in the direct line of enemy fire everyday, except to look at more ways to pass the buck of responsibility, culpability and cover up the conspiracy. Usually, we in the US impeach liars from the Executive Office. I suppose if you get people killed you’re a True Patriot and not a horny trimmer so the former is acceptable.
Here in New Hampshire we have Gene Chandler, JJ Manning, John Ward, Chris Doyle, James Tobin, Chuck McGee and who knows how many more, along with all of the participants of the standing "O", that refuse to take responsibility for their illegal actions while blaming everyone from underage college co-eds to grandmothers to the Secretary of States election laws to the friggin tooth fairy. Business as usual in the Righty camp be it National or State level.
Nuff said.
P.S. For you 2 Righty party hack spies, I will be happy to expand on all of the aforementioned facts with specific footnotes and links to all of the above. Drop me an e-chat... But you can find them everywhere other than BUSH network, err… FOX network news or if you read, well, anything.

Political strategy using Roe v. Wade
Should Roe Go?
Katha Pollitt
July 15, 2005 (in part)...
..."Legislative control might be more "democratic"—if you believe that a state senator balancing women's health against a highway for his district represents democracy. But would it be fair? The whole point about constitutional protection for rights is to guarantee them when they are unpopular—to shield them from majority prejudice, opportunistic politicians, the passions and pressures of the moment. Freedom of speech, assembly, worship and so on belong to us as individuals; our neighbors, our families and our legislators don't get to vote on how we use these rights or whether we should have them in the first place. Alabamans may be largely anti-choice, but what about the ones who aren't? Or the ones who are, but even so, don't want to die in childbirth, bear a hopelessly damaged baby or drop out of school at 15—or 25? If Roe goes, whoever has political power will determine the most basic, intimate, life-changing and life-threatening decision women—and only women—confront. We will have a country in which the same legislature that can't prevent some clod from burning a flag will be able to force a woman to bear a child under whatever circumstances it sees fit. It is hard to imagine how that woman would be a free or equal citizen of our constitutional republic."
Check it out... RISE UP!!!
Snoozing through legislation and litigation.
In part...
"...{M}cElroy sent then-Attorney General Peter Heed a document making reference to “court of conscience,” and filled with Latin and pseudo legal terms, Delker said. Delker said he wasn’t able to understand enough of the document to describe or characterize it."
Further...
"His legislative career included co-sponsoring bills attempting to nullify the Patriot Act and the federal government’s authority to levy income taxes in New Hampshire, and requiring the state to mint its own money and redesign its flag..."
Sounds like a stalwart Republican Alliance, card carrying Bircher member to me.
There are tons of stories and anecdotal evidence of how legislators snooze through public testimony and hearings on the floor of both the House and Senate. I think that is reprehensible since too many votes are cast when the pol has not idea what the vote means and what the legislation consists of and its implications. But to sleep through a friggin murder trial and then try to push your own Righty, or any, skewed, personal agenda is criminal.
Well, that is the SOP of the current Righty Oligarchy.

"HEALTH – A VERY UNAPPETIZING STEW: The Washington Post reported this morning that unborn babies in the United States are soaking in a stew of chemicals, including mercury, gasoline byproducts and pesticides. The article was based on a report by the Environmental Working Group, which, after studying umbilical cord blood samples, found an average of 287 fetal contaminants. Rep. Louise Slaughter said, "If ever we had proof that our nation's pollution laws aren't working, it's reading the list of industrial chemicals in the bodies of babies who have not yet lived outside the womb..."
How can we admit or think or even consider truthfully, that we are making a safer environment for our Worlds future, when our unborn progeny are dying from the very air and water and food we breath and drink and eat???

More good Righty moral values.
The story is at the anti-Union Leader and shows how JJ Manning has had problems with his establishment shlepping booze to the intoxicated public. Nice. This is where Budman Ward gets his advice...
From the Leader...
"The charges stem from a crash the 20-year-old woman was involved in moments after leaving the restaurant on June 12. The woman, Sheryl Brown of Derry, crashed her car into a tree at 1:19 a.m. near 57 Pleasant Street, directly behind the track's stables. She was not hurt, but police said she was intoxicated."
Wait... there's more...
"Manning's restaurant was cited by the state Liquor Commission for selling alcohol —vodka and rum — that was not allowed under the terms of his liquor license last July. According to reports in the New Hampshire Union Leader, he chalked it up to "a miscommunication," assuming that because the track could sell liquor, he could as well.
Manning will be arraigned at Salem District Court on Aug. 8..."
Yeah, this is serious and I am truly glad noone got hurt due to another irresponsible, arrogant Righty party hack. I am glad, however that another RRR is in hot water for "allegedly" providing minors access to good solid Righty moral values in the form of expanded underaged gaming and underaged drinking and then driving while juiced. Nice. The party and the Righty parents should be proud. TRAGIC!!!

FINALLY!!! the white house press corps grows a pair....
YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS VIDEO CSPAN video. THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS CORP FINALLY ACTS LIKE JOURNALISTS!!! ONE TIME APPEARANCE ONLY!! NOT LIKELY TO BE REPEATED!!
This week, Newsweek revealed that Karl Rove told Time reporter Matt Cooper that Joe Wilson’s wife worked for the CIA.
Here is what White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan said about the matter on 9/29/03:
Q All right. Let me just follow up. You said this morning, "The President knows" that Karl Rove wasn't involved. How does he know that?
MR. McCLELLAN: Well, I've made it very clear that it was a ridiculous suggestion in the first place. I saw some comments this morning from the person who made that suggestion, backing away from that. And I said it is simply not true. So, I mean, it's public knowledge. I've said that it's not true. And I have spoken with Karl Rove --
Q But how does --
MR. McCLELLAN: I'm not going to get into conversations that the President has with advisors or staff or anything of that nature; that's not my practice.
Q But the President has a factual basis for knowing that Karl Rove --
MR. McCLELLAN: I said it publicly. I said that --
Q But I'm not asking what you said, I'm asking if the President has a factual basis for saying -- for your statement that he knows Karl Rove --
MR. McCLELLAN: He's aware of what I've said, that there is simply no truth to that suggestion. And I have spoken with Karl about it.
McClellan also went on the record several other times. Now, after reporters finally started asking questions, McClellan won't go on the public record and talk about Rove / Plame. From a rush transcript on RawStory:
QUESTION: Do you stand by your statement from the fall of 2003, when you were asked specifically about Karl and Elliot Abrams and Scooter Libby, and you said, "I've gone to each of those gentlemen, and they have told me they are not involved in this"?
QUESTION: Do you stand by that statement?
MCCLELLAN: And if you will recall, I said that, as part of helping the investigators move forward on the investigation, we're not going to get into commenting on it. That was something I stated back near that time as well.
QUESTION: Scott, this is ridiculous. The notion that you're going to stand before us, after having commented with that level of detail, and tell people watching this that somehow you've decided not to talk.
You've got a public record out there. Do you stand by your remarks from that podium or not?
MCCLELLAN: I'm well aware, like you, of what was previously said. And I will be glad to talk about it at the appropriate time. The appropriate time is when the investigation...
QUESTION: (inaudible) when it's appropriate and when it's inappropriate? MCCLELLAN: If you'll let me finish.
QUESTION: No, you're not finishing. You're not saying anything.
You stood at that podium and said that Karl Rove was not involved. And now we find out that he spoke about Joseph Wilson's wife. So don't you owe the American public a fuller explanation. Was he involved or was he not? Because contrary to what you told the American people, he did indeed talk about his wife, didn't he?
MCCLELLAN: There will be a time to talk about this, but now is not the time to talk about it.
QUESTION: Do you think people will accept that, what you're saying today?
MCCLELLAN: Again, I've responded to the question.
QUESTION: You're in a bad spot here, Scott...
(LAUGHTER)
... because after the investigation began -- after the criminal investigation was under way -- you said, October 10th, 2003, "I spoke with those individuals, Rove, Abrams and Libby. As I pointed out, those individuals assured me they were not involved in this," from that podium. That's after the criminal investigation began.
Now that Rove has essentially been caught red-handed peddling this information, all of a sudden you have respect for the sanctity of the criminal investigation.

Our Corrupt Senate
In part...
"One of the cold-hard-facts of the 2005 legislative session is this: every important piece of legislation either dies or flies at the whim of a rigidly controlled group of right wing senators. Whether it's minimum wage, the state budget, Medicaid block grants, school funding or John Stephens diabolical consolidation of mental health services--they all meet their fate in the Senate--and the results are always compatible with the George Bush, Grover Norquist, Carl Rove, Bob Clegg, Robert Boyce, Robert Flanders, David Carney etcetera-and-so-on, worldview."
Lastly...
"The Senate didn't even pay the House of Representatives the courtesy of an up or down vote on the bill."( HB90)
It's time to clean up the New Hampshire Senate."
Well done Chaz. Keep up the great work.
This piece is well worth the read. Now, GET HOT , RISE UP !!!

Good News Regardless of what FOX News would like to see....
from Media Matters.orgKILMEADE: And he [British Prime Minister Tony Blair] made the statement, clearly shaken, but clearly determined. This is his second address in the last hour. First to the people of London, and now at the G8 summit, where their topic Number 1 --believe it or not-- was global warming, the second was African aid. And that was the first time since 9-11 when they should know, and they do know now, that terrorism should be Number 1. But it's important for them all to be together. I think that works to our advantage, in the Western world's advantage, for people to experience something like this together, just 500 miles from where the attacks have happened.
VARNEY: It puts the Number 1 issue right back on the front burner right at the point where all these world leaders are meeting. It takes global warming off the front burner. It takes African aid off the front burner. It sticks terrorism and the fight on the war on terror, right up front all over again.
KILMEADE: Yeah.
Regardless of what Fox news would like to happen and regardless of what they would like their leagues of zombies to believe African Aid, at least, is not off the back burner.
U2's Bono and Live8 organizer Bob Geldof celebrated a huge win this weekend as G8 leaders agreed to double aid to Africa to $50 billion.

First veto shocks some...
Well, the Lynch hatchet fell on the neck of this devil and confused Republican Senate President Tom Eaton is all about knashing teeth and weeping that Lynch is usurping power away from the reeking Righty legislative body and trying to marganilize the weakened Righty majority. Yeah, good one Tom. I think that the Guvnah should get kudos on finally showing backbone to his other party across the aisle and that he has voiced his control of the corner office...at least for the rest of this term.
