2005 "10 Worst Toys" List
| W.A.T.C.H.'s annual "10 Worst Toys" list nominates representative toys with the potential to cause childhood injuries, or even death. W.A.T.C.H.'s annual "Toy Conference" has generated extensive national press and media coverage. Because of these efforts, and the positive response from both the media and the public, there have been many toy and product design changes. Founder Edward M. Swartz and W.A.T.C.H. have fearlessly exposed potentially dangerous toys to the general public. As a result, children’s lives have been saved. | ||||

The "Lord of the Rings Return of the King Uruk-Hai Crossbow Set including Electronic Light 'n' Sound Sting Sword" sounds like a toy Irving Mainway (the sleazy toy makeer played by Dan Ackroyd on SNL) would have been proud to pitch. Remember (those of you who aren't young whippersnappers)Mainway items like "Johnny the Invisible Pedestrian" Halloween costume - "not to be worn by blind children" or toys like "Bag O' Glass?"
I disapprove of the Little Mommy Bath Baby Doll on general feminist principle. Why must we train little girls for their roles as mommy - but little boys get light swords? Time to reverse roles - give him the baby and give her an AK-47. (a toy one, sheesh...)
