City of Concord hates teachers... and by extension children...
Teachers plan to picket outside city schools over the next few weeks to protest their lack of a new contract. Teachers and school board officials are in negotiations but several issues remain contentious. The school board wants teachers to share the cost of skyrocketing health insurance but teachers don't want to end up losing money.
Negotiations for a new contract have dragged on for almost a year. Teachers have been working without a new contract for the last four months.
The picketing plan calls for teachers to stand outside the schools for about 20 minutes each morning before classes start.
