No More Viagra For Convicted Sex Offenders
New York state's comptroller announced that 198 convicted rapists and sex offenders had been reimbursed by Medicaid for Viagra between Jan. 1, 2000, and March 31, 2005.
They received the medication after they were paroled or completed their sentences for crimes against victims that Comptroller Alan Hevesi said were as young as 2 years old.
Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said he will introduce legislation to make sure sex offenders cannot use Medicaid to pay for Viagra. "The fact that some of the most dangerous perpetrators are allowed access to Viagra on the taxpayer's dime is mind-boggling," he said.

I was testifying yesterday at a committee hearing on HR16. Through the wall, as I testified, I could hear a bunch of men in the next room guffawing and making Viagra jokes. Surreal.
HR16 is a resolution - asking our Congressional delegation to support the Bush plan to privatize Social Security. The Reps who sponsored it (Lund and Slocum)presented some out right lies as facts. Luckily, Mark MacKenzie, president of the NH AFL-CIO and yours truly were there to debunk the lies.
There really ought to be cameras in the committee rooms. If people could only see what their legislators are doing....like Rep. Putnam who slept through much of the testimony, waking up during mine, then making silly comments - kinda like the dormouse in Alice In Wonderland. No reason for this drooling creepazoid to stay in office.
