In the White House that hero worshipped the president, Miers was distinguished by the intensity of her zeal: She once told me that the president was the most brilliant man she had ever met.
Frum concluded, “This is no time for the president to indulge his loyalty to his friends.” Looks like he was wrong.

President Bush's latest nominee to the Supreme Court, Harriet Miers, has quite a shady and questionable past, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. She was tied not only to a major corruption scandal in Texas, but also to President Bush's Texas National Guard scandal...will Senate Democrats demand an explanation?
