For what it's worth to the reader...
I did not support a Con-Con and the one outlined here has some flaws, in my opinion, but the more I study the current US Constitution, and the more I read about changes, I may just reconsider my views on a Con-Con. This is probably not the "local" issue some wish me to stay on message about in my seemingly futile fight against the establishment, but certainly this could be very local before you know what happened.
This is taken from the Federal record with a posters quick blerb...
..."[To] add a sense of urgency to the matter, consider the following executive orders that might be implemented in the event of an economic collapse, perhaps precipitated by escalating oil prices:"
E.O. 10990 Seizure of all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
E.O. 10995 Seizure of all communications media in the United States.
E.O. 10997 Seizure of all electric power fuels and minerals, public and private.
E.O. 10999 Seizure of all means of transportation, including personal cars, trucks or vehicles of any kind and total control of highways, seaports and waterways.
E.O 11000 Seizure of all American people for work forces under FEDERAL supervision including the splitting of families if the government finds it necessary.
E.O. 11001 Seizure of all health, education and welfare facilities, public and private.
E.O 11002 Empowered the postmaster general to register all men, women and children in the U.S.
E.O. 11003 Seizure of all airports and aircraft.
E.O. 11004 Seizure of all housing and finance authorities to establish Forced Relocation areas if deemed necessary.
E.O. 11005 Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways and storage facilities, public and private.
E.O. 11051 Empowers the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect IN TIMES OF INCREASED INTERNATIONAL TENSIONS AND ECONOMIC OR FINANCIAL CRISIS.
E.O. 11310 Empowers the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, TO OPERATE PENAL AND CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS, and to advise and assist the President.
E.O. 11921 Empowers the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution, of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months.
E.O. 12919 Signed June 3, 1994 by President Bill Clinton. Encompasses all the above executive orders.
Is this the future you envision for yourself and your children?
My message is very simple . . . do unto the feds BEFORE they do unto you.
Thank you for your time..."
Yummy. Thus my assertion, this/our gumment is not your friend. Rise up indeed. Now let me go tighten up my tin foil turban.
National Con-Con group-NAIP.
GET ACTIVE!!! Smarten up!!!
I am re-thiniing my support for a National Con-Con. Very interesting ideas in the draft amendments I read but my main concern here is that there may be too many dead end avenues for We the People to get jammed down and have no recourse due to the duopoly that runs the show now.
How is this Con-Con coordinated and how does one's legislature approve/appoint the folks that are to approve the drafts? I then would be concerned with the corporate interest being so influential as to keep labor, environmental, tax issues etc... from being Constitutionally customized to suit their collective agenda. You know, like now.
Interesting all the same. Historic too, no doubt.
Using such an outdated document in today's world is akin to using the Bible as a scientific text.
See, you and me are closer than you think. I'm not that Right that I can't admit I'm, errr, wrong.
